Tuesday, 23rd June 2009 (644 views) Drilling has recommenced at Wesdome Gold Mines' wholly-owned Dubuisson discovery in Val d'Or, Quebec. The Canadian company discovered a gold occurrence at the site during the second half of last year and its new drilling session is being carried out to establish its geometry, dimensions and internal continuity. Between now and November, Wesdome hopes to complete 25,000 metres of drilling, with work set to speed up from next month when a second barge-mounted drill will be brought in to assist with the process. It is aiming to be able to put together a preliminary resource estimate to quantify the potential of the find before the end of 2009. The Dubuisson discovery is located approximately three kilometres to the east of the company's Kiena mine, which it acquired in December 2003. In its 2008 annual report, Wesdome stated that it was concentrating on developing a number of satellite deposits near to the site as part of a long-term goal to fully explore the area.
