Wednesday, 24th June 2009 (1194 views) A poker player from the US has discussed how he will wear a large gold bracelet during an upcoming match to remind him of the support he has back at home.Foster Rau is due to enter the main event of the 40th annual World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas later this month and told Californian newspaper the Appeal-Journal of the gold-link chain he was given by his friends to wear throughout the tournament. "We figured if he got knocked out in the first hour at least he'd have something," said friend Frank Marino of the gift. And Mr Rau could have another item of jewellery to go with it if he is successful in the competition. Gold bracelets, which are said to be worth in the region of $5,000 (£3,030) each, are handed out to winners of WSOP events along with prize money. Phil Hellmuth has won more of the trophies than anybody else with 11.
