Thursday, 25th June 2009 (1017 views) People should get expensive items of gold jewellery appraised independently after purchasing them, it has been suggested. The Press of Atlantic City's Consumer Action advice column recommended this as a way to ensure that items are exactly as they have been advertised. "It's a good reminder to have expensive jewellery appraised after purchase by an independent third party and to return it quickly if problems are found," it said. The news provider spoke to a national jewellery store in the US that said it would carry out its own tests on returned pieces and if any mistakes had been made it could then confront the supplier. Last week, the jewellery brand Pandora announced it will be opening a store in York, England. Manager Ayesha Walker explained that it will be the first time Pandora has had its own shop in the country, as it had previously been sold within other outlets.
