It is believed to be part of a pendant dating back to the 15th century and depicts the Holy Trinity. "You get a buzz every time you get a signal, but chances are it won't be anything," Ms Hanaby stated, adding that she has "always dreamed of finding treasure". Head of treasure at the British Museum Roger Bland described the item as an "important find". He added that it is unfortunate that the museum does not currently have the funds needed to buy it. Earlier this month, gold discovered in West Yorkshire that is estimated to be worth up to £100,000 was declared treasure by coroner David Hinchcliff, as it is likely to be over 300 years old.
