Patek Philippe creates unique gold watchThe news feeds on this site are independently provided by Adfero Limited © and do not represent the views or opinions of the World Gold Council. Tuesday, 30th June 2009 (1203 views) A gold watch produced by Patek Philippe has been hailed as offering a "delicate golden rendition of the Milky Way".The unique celestial-themed timepiece is to be auctioned off later this year and Luxist predicted that it will fetch a high price. Writing for the site, Ariel Adams explained that the watch features an unusual 22-c bezel, in addition to an 18-c case. It was created by Patek Philippe for the Only Watch 2009 auction, which is due to take place in Monaco in September. The event is also set to feature a unique gold watch produced by Omega, according to ViaLuxe. The timepiece is a special version of the Ploprof model originally manufactured during the 1970s. Earlier this month, a pair of Patek Philippe watches went on sale at an auction hosted by Antiquorum in New York, fetching a combined price of more than $380,000 (£229,000).
