Friday, 24th July 2009 (920 views) A gold pendant has been stolen in a New York jewellery heist, according to reports.Derrick Cruz, designer for Black Sheep and Prodigal Sons, told New York Magazine that the necklace had been taken during the Capsule event at the Bblessing boutique in the city. A solid 18-c gold honeycomb pendant, the necklace is worth $4,500 (£2,739) and is described by the designer as one of a kind. Set to form part of Black Sheep and Prodigal Sons's fall 2010 collection, the gold pendant was stolen from a display case at the event. Mr Cruz explained that the only suspect so far is a man who contacted him regarding his Cottonmouth bolo. He said: "The man never showed up at my studio for the transaction. "Turns out before the show officially opened he was at the space looking at the case. He's our only suspect." Black Sheep and Prodigal Sons is the name given to the work of Mr Cruz, who was born in Puerto Rico but lives and works in New York. He aims to design "alluringly dark" items using modern technologies.
