Wednesday, 29th July 2009 (974 views) Gold items were among the high-end products on display at the Gulf Luxury Fair over the weekend.The event, which took place in London between July 25th and 27th, saw a £455,000 gold watch from Girard Perregaux and a wealth of gold jewellery and ornaments from the likes of the Kyles Collection and Grant MacDonald Silversmiths go on show. Carmaker Jaguar also showed off its new Jaguar XJ, while Harrods Estates, Hamptons International and BDI Home Finders aimed to tempt buyers with an array of luxury properties. The Gulf Luxury Fair took place at the InterContinental Hotel and was designed to attract affluent visitors from the Gulf and the Middle East. Speaking to Sky News, Abdeslam El-Idrissi, director of trade services at the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce, commented: "Everything that we can do to improve trade to the UK [and] focus [the Middle East] on the UK as a proper destination, the better."
