Gold rings offer a lasting reminder of picture-perfect weddingsThe news feeds on this site are independently provided by Adfero Limited © and do not represent the views or opinions of the World Gold Council. Monday, 28th September 2009 (3248 views) Many couples put hours into selecting the decorations, vehicles, outfits and food for their wedding day, but according to one veteran of the jewellery industry, it is the wedding ring that provides the lasting reminder of the big day.Kenyan jeweller Nagin Pattni, who has sold engagement and wedding rings to couples for more than 40 years, told the Standard newspaper that while some aspects of the ceremony may eventually fade from the memory, the wedding ring endures. "A ring creates a connection, a bridge between a man and woman," he said. Mr Pattni added that when choosing a design, couples should bear in mind that "authentic materials" like gold are the best choices. "Gold never rusts and never fades," the jeweller noted. According to the 2009 American Wedding Survey by Brides magazine, the average cost of two wedding rings for couples in the US stands at $1,575 (£991).
