Annoushka Ducas 'inspired' to work with goldThe news feeds on this site are independently provided by Adfero Limited © and do not represent the views or opinions of the World Gold Council. Wednesday, 30th September 2009 (3154 views) Trips around the globe inspired UK jewellery makers to work with gold.Annoushka Ducas and partner John Ayton - who created London Links - revealed that their world has "opened up" after they decided to work with the precious metal. Named the Annoushka Collection, the ideas behind the designs of the new range came from their travels to India, Latin America, Ethiopia and Namibia. Ms Ducas said: "We came back recharged and inspired. "With Annoushka we can work with gold, precious stones etcetera. A whole new world has opened up and the design possibilities are endless." The pieces are made to be worn, the pair claimed, so many of the items are made from 18-karat gold and utilise precious and semi-precious stones. Ms Ducas added she hoped the new items will encourage women to wear their jewellery in a more eccentric way, using them to dress up everything from cocktail dresses to jeans. Elsewhere in the UK, consumers will now be able to sample the luxurious gold trinkets of US marque Tiffany at its new store in Heathrow airport.
